Hallo liebe Forenfreunde
Ich wurde auf dieses Programm aufmerksam gemacht und habe da noch ein Paar Fragen:
Wann ungefähr kommt das neue Biab 2019 deutsch?
Wie geht die Installation vor sich? Ich habe gelesen, dass es >10 GB Speicherplatz braucht auf der Festplatte, aber auch von einer Grösse von 110 GB gelesen. Dies überfordert meine SSD Festplatte von 125 GB. Ist die Idee so, dass man auch einiges auf einer externen Festplatte speichern kann?
Was ist der Unterschied zwischen den einzelnen Versionen? Genügt mir als Anfänger und Hobbymusiker auch die Vollversion für 129 €?

willkommen im Forum!
Die Übersetzung des Programms und des Handbuchs von BiaB ins Deutsche liegt typischerweise immer Mai/Juni vor. Du kannst, wenn du möchtest, aber bereits jetzt eine englische Version kaufen, das deutsche Sprachupdate wird dann hier von PGMusic bereitgestellt.
Band in a Box selbst und auch die mitgelieferte DAW RealBand sowie die MIDI-Styles nehmen nicht viel Speicherplatz in Anspruch, das liegt alles im Bereich von 1 GB ... Aber: die eigentliche Stärke von Band in a Box entfaltet sich mit der Nutzung der sogenannten RealTracks und RealStyles. RealTracks sind, kurz gesagt, Audioaufnahmen echter Musiker (teils auch sehr namhafter), die für das Programm Riffs, Changes, Bassläufe etc. über alle möglichen Akkordwechsel eingespielt haben. Aus diesen setzt das Programm dann, nahtlos und klanglich sehr perfekt, eine komplette Begleitband nach den von dir angegebenen Akkordfolgen zusammen. Diese RealTracks sind recht groß - es sind ja echte Audiofiles. Die RealStyles liegen für sehr viele musikalische Stilrichtungen von Country über Hardrock, Pop, Folk und natürlich Jazz vor, selbst RealStyles klassicher Musik gibt es.
Und genau darin liegen letztlich die Unterschiede im Preis und im Speicherbedarf der verschiedenen Programmpakete. In der Vergleichstabelle ist das ganz gut zu sehen.
Das "große" Paket Ultrapak umfasst tatsächlich 2700 RealTracks und benötigt dann ca. 110 GB Festplattenspeicher. Aber du kannst da natürlich die Realtracks auf eine externe Festplatte legen - ich habe in mein MS-Surface-Notebook (mit 512 GB) einen zusätzlichen 256-GB-SD-Chip eingesetzt und als externes Laufwerk eingebunden. Da liegen die ganzen RealTracks drauf. Dass der Chip nicht so schnell ist wie eine SSD spielt keine Rolle, die Daten werden vom Programm nur beim Generieren eines Stückes benötigt und eingelesen.
Du kannst aber natürlich auch das Paket "Pro" oder das "Mega" kaufen. Dort sind dann nur 300 (bzw. 500) RealTracks dabei und auch weniger MIDI-Styles. Später kannst du dann Stylepakete einzeln nachkaufen oder auf ein größeres Paket updaten. Nicht jeder braucht die RealTracks zum Beispiel von Alpenländischer Polkamusik – obwohl es manchmal sehr spannend und inspirierend ist, ein Arrangement, sagen wir eines Rockstückes auf Tastenklick durch eine Volksmusikgruppe mit Zither, Akkordeon und Tuba spielen zu lassen.

Hallo Markus,
dann viel Spaß mit diesem tollen Programm! Aufkommende Fragen sind im deutschen Forum und natürlich auch im englischen immer gut aufgehoben. Gerade das englische Forum ist ungewöhnlich rege und immer hilfsbereit bei einfachen bis kniffligen Fragen.
Verzweifle nicht an der Komplexität des Programms. Es wirkt manchmal wie ein Schweizermesser, weil es so viele Funktionen anbietet, die im Laufe der Jahre dazugekommen sind. Das ist nicht immer ganz transparent zu bedienen. Aber es gibt sehr viele gute englische Tutorialvideos hier auf der Webseite und auch einige deutschprachige bei YouTube, die den Einstieg erleichtern.

Ja danke, ich kenne dies von anderen Programmen, es wird immer mehr reingepackt und der einfache User ist baldeinmal überfordert. Aber ich habe mir bereit schon einige Video-Tutorials angeschaut und die sind sehr lehrreich, wenn man es dann einmal selbst mit dem Programm nachvollziehen kann.
