Hello Glen, We aren't aware of any issues with the program specific to Windows 7 64-bit, except for the fact that the VSC only works on 32-bit OS. Quote:
Back to the other big issue that got me spooked when I installed 2010 on Win7 64 bit, the premature installation crash
Not sure what that would have been, but if you can duplicate that let us know exactly what happens.

As to the presets issue, I've looked at all mine and there are presets available for all of the PG audio plugins, except for, Autowah, Distortion, RingMod, RTA, Tremolo, Vinyl Tool and Vocal Remover. Wonder if anyone can comment whether there were even presets for those. Since my install seemed to fail early, maybe that's why some of the plug-in presets are missing and the Vocal Remover, crashes RB2010 straight to the desktop immediately. I just won't use that one, but I'd be interested if anyone else on Win7 64bit can indicate whether their plugins behave the the same. I wonder if it's safe for me to try the plug-in patch Andrew posted too, or if I need to, based on my observations above. Be interested in your recommendation Andrew, if you read this.
There aren't factory presets for those plugins, so that's normal. I've never heard of any issues with the Vocal Remover plugin, not sure why it would cause a crash. It works fine in my testing. So if that's still happening, we would need to get more information from you about that. Since you already have your presets for the plugins, you wouldn't need to install the patch.

I have noticed problems with some of my RealTracks not being installed and when I'm in the styles list, every style is attributed to disk #94 for some reason!?! I'll start a different thread to see if anyone can help with getting my Stylelist working properly. Don't think this has much to do with Win7 64, so I'm starting to feel pretty good about 2010 with this operating system, based on what I'm seeing.
#94 is used for styles with RealTracks, so that's normal. If you describe the symptoms of the 'RealTracks not being installed' problem, and also tell us specifically what package you have (e.g. is it UltraPlusPAK on hard drive, or...) we can let you know how to fix that or why it might be happening. This wouldn't be a Win7 64 specific issue.

Hey Andrew, Thanks for the feedback. I agreed with all that you said. And then went to work digging in to it all. Here are the results.
Appreciated the feedback regarding the plug-ins, you've saved me some time there regarding the presets. I retried loading the vocal remover and this time the crash did not occur, so I'm thinking this might have been related to the ASIO driver "tweaking" I was doing at the same time. My fault, not RB.
As far as the Stylelist goes, yeah, I guess it was just a fluke that the categories I happened to select below the RealTrack descriptions (Jazz and a couple Country ones) happened to be the ones that also just happened to have all there SD#94 sorted to the top. I didn't look closely enough. Keep scrolling down and you'll eventually find some other numbers.
As far as the missing styles go, I fixed that myself. I missed one of the 14 RealTrack DVDs during the install. This is a summary of the RealTrack styles now, does this sound right?
Real Styles 264 Styles with RealTracks 765 Styles with RealDrums 755
I can't explain why the original install ended abnormally, but every things seems all fixed and from what I can tell, up and running fine in Win7 64bit on my PC, so I'm good to go for now. I haven't tried all the features yet, and it sounds like there may be a patch in the days ahead, but you still get my congrats on all the new RealTracks and features in 2010. Thanks again.

When I installed RB on Win7 64 machine it went thru install fine. At the end of install is the last window that asks if I want to launch RB, and when I clickrd OK (or Finish) it tried to launch RB. It was at this point that it crashed here.
That was because Win7 didn't have it registered as a 32 bit program, and tried running in 64 bit.
Immediately afterward Win7 said it noticed the program crashed and do I want to try to fix it? I said yes. Win7 then said it had changed the program to running in 32 bit mode and would I like to try it again, so I said yes. Never had a problem after that.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

That looks pretty close. Open the RealTracks window, and then check the box 'Show styles that are NA' at the bottom. Do you have any N/A (not available) instruments? This is a good way to verify that you have all of the RealTracks to date. If you have any N/A, you could sort then by Set number (by clicking at the top of that column) and see if there is a particular set you are missing.
Once you have done that, I would next download the latest RealTracks update for sets 67-82 to make sure you aren't missing any of the latest .STY files. There were some .STY (Band-in-a-Box styles) added after the initial release. http://www.pgmusic.com/support_windows_realdrums.htm#RealTracks67-82

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the feedback! After heeding your advice, I've seen the following changes in the StyleList. Real Styles 264 increased to 344 Styles with RealTracks 765 increased to 857 Styles with RealDrums 755 stayed at 755
Are you or anyone else able to confirm that the numbers of RealTrack styles are correct now?
Hi rharv,
Thanks for wading in. I believe the situation you describe is exactly what happened to me. I don't typically launch a program from the install, but I'm pretty sure I did in this case. Figures!
Glen
