I'm trying to add a vocal echo effect like the one in John Lennon's "Instant Karma". Any suggestions?
Thanks! Bernie

Two thoughts. Find a slapback echo effect you like then slow it down a little and increase the number of echos. Also there is echo on instruments too, most notably the drums but the drums have only one echo.

I don't have PowerTracks Pro but searching through the website it appears that PowerTracks Pro includes the PG Music Direct-X Plugins. One of the PG Music Direct-X plugins is called PG Echo Chorus.

PG Echo Chorus creates medium to long delay effects. A delay longer than about 40 milliseconds is perceived as echo or slapback. Percussive instruments may be perceived as slapback, even when a delay shorter than 40 milliseconds is selected.

Insert an instance of PG Echo Chorus into an auxiliary buss then route individual tracks through the buss to apply PG Echo Chorus across multiple tracks.

Using an effect on a buss has an advantage of requiring just one instance of the effect even though the effect is applied to multiple tracks. You will likely want to use this method to obtain the overall space of the song.

A second advantage is use of the effect does not alter the audio contained on a track. You will find you likely have to experiment and adjust settings to obtain the sound effect you desire so non destructive effect application is a great advantage to have available.

You'll likely find you will need to insert another instance of PG Echo Chorus into a second auxiliary buss. That is not unusual because different instruments respond to echo differently. You may not hear the echo very much on a strumming guitar audio track when compared against the short, impulse sounds heard on a drum track.

A screen shot of the PG Music Echo Chorus interface is below. The top, right corner has a help button that will provide more information about using the effect.

Or maybe try using the Kjaerhus Classic Digital Delay (or any one of the many VST digital delays available).
https://www.acoustica.com/plugins/vst-directx.htm

In Jim's image the controls I'd focus on would be
Delay (how long between each 'slapback' repeat)
Feedback (how many times)
Wet/Dry mix (how much of the delay is mixed in with the dry signal)

The High/Low rolloff can can also be significant in changing the sound of the delayed (slapback) effect.

Note that if this effect is added at the Track FX level these settings can be much different than if the effect is added at the AUX buss level. Experiment.
The AUX buss level 'adds' the effect to the dry signal in a different way than if it is inserted at the Track level.

Let your ears decide.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
