Is the midi keyboard just a controller with no voices of its own. If it has its own voices maybe you have tuned local off. As far as BIAB is concerned the thru voice is sent on ch 5 but the recording goes to the melody track ch4 So to hear the same voice on playback the melody voice and the thru voice need to be set to the same voice. See options / preferences / channels for channels no pic below.
