I have noticed that I tend to prefer more intimate settings when listening to folks live. I feel like you either need to do small and intimate or big and over-the-top. The really high-end production concerts I've been to have been phenomenal, but the smaller shows I've been to where it feels like it's just you and a few other people where the musician stops to tell you a bit about each song really sets a family-esque/friendly tone are also right up there for me.
