FedEx may also be handling duty (or whatever the tax/import fee is called there). Just a thought .. some places seem to charge an awful lot to import a disk drive regardless of cost or size of said drive.
Maybe they want to make it look like they actually have to inspect the contents (data) before letting it through.. but something tells me they don't often do this.
Cost of doing business I guess.
