I had a try with Discogs awhile back and I didn’t care for the disconnected way one had to log items. Found an app and website called Libib and spent this weekend scanning cd barcodes and entering info from discogs of all places on the cds that didn’t have scannable barcodes.

I would say that the app scanned UPC barcodes with a 80 percent success rate. Most that didn’t work were older Christian cds that apparently used a different database than mainstream cds. BMG direct and Columbia Record Club barcodes would not scan, but every one of them is on discogs with the retail upc listed for copy paste to libib.

800+ CDs cataloged.

Now I can look to see if I have something with a glance at the phone when I’m out thrift store shopping.

There is a 5000 cd limit to the database. I think I’m pretty safe from reaching that limit.
