When pausing instruments in a bar, I know to enter B for Bass D for Drums G for guitar, but what code is used for Soloist? Entering an S pauses the strings but not the soloist.

In BIAB, you can't pause the soloist track (nor the melody track); only the accompaniment tracks (Drums, Piano, Guitar, B[*****], and Strings - to use the legacy names). If you need to pause a soloist track, then you must create a custom solo on the track where you specify which bars should include the solo. You can do this iteratively in different sections of your song.
By the way, "Bass" doesn't display properly, because when you add the "bold text" codes, you end up with a bolded "B" followed by a 3 letter word that the forum disallows.

Okay thanks...bit of a nuisance! Seems a shame PG cannot fix this I would think rather simple(?)issue. Ability to pause any or all of the tracks should really be standard with the advancements they have made elsewhere.

Yes that is true.
But you can mute the soloist for any number of bars in bar settings,F5
Although of course this is only for whole bars not beats.
Will this help at all.
