Hello Folks. Here is my latest tune. I do not think it has deep subliminal message ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) It was mostly pure fun. I enjoy making these type of tunes as they do not dictate direction of music or lyrics. Feedback or suggestions are always welcomed. Thank you for listening! Misha. Tongue My Foe Tech stuff. Band: 921: Bass, Acoustic, Bossa EV110 1325: MedleySaxTrumpetPianoGuitar 1771: GuitarElectricRhythmJazzFunkMovinMuted Real DrumsLaPopJazzCool Initial midi bones are done in vArranger. Project is moved to BIAB, rearranged slightly. Synths of Halion Sonic. Mixed in Cakewalk. Lyrics: World is a piggy bank with a fallen out bottom cap, Making love through the fine mesh of mosquito net. Past is fossilized, buried under feet, Present - melting butter and a cowhide whip. Tongue - my foe, heart - Achilles' heel. Search of fading truth, craving magic pill. Bills for water, soon for air that we breathe. Lies, are fed as bread on shiny TV screens. Hello, Welcome to W#lmart, where happiness is on sale 24/7, Where smiles are always free, equally bright for masters and for peasants. Tongue - my foe, my heart - Achilles' heel, Search of fading truth & craving magic pill. Skeletons in closets wearing Chanel coats, Drinking old whiskey and cracking anecdotes. Tell me what you see in your magic telescope except for cold lifeless stars? I will tell you the truth, I am not ready to move...just yet To the moon or to Mars. Tongue - my foe, heart - Achilles' heel. Searching for the truth, seeking magic pill. Memories are treasure maps - permanent tattoos Showing way to you.

This is really cryptic and very animated. Love how you use your vocals in this. Great production and great confusing lyrics. Very well done. Rob

Your lyrics are a treasure trove of imagery and word play! So many goodies: "Skeletons in closets wearing Chanel coats/Drinking old whiskey and cracking anecdotes." --Clever rhyme. I smiled all the way through the song. Love the ending notes.

That was very interesting.
An excellent and textured vocal performance, a cryptic set of lyrics and a nicely composed backing.
Clever stuff.

Heaps of fun - you're exercised you inner Tom Waites in the choruses. Great fun with a large dollop of cynicism to go with the mustard.

Hi Misha, Very creative and very different as per usual! Never know what to expect from you, other than I'm going to enjoy the ride. Cool lyrics, great word play! I really like the way you changed up the last two lines of the chorus each time though, very effective. I think my favorite is: "Skeletons in closets wearing Chanel coats, Drinking old whiskey and cracking anecdotes." Good stuff! ![cool cool](/forums/images/graemlins/default/cool.gif)

--Left my computer up at work. Lesson learned. I'm glad you didn't reply.-- Anyway, really cool song. I actually listened to it before reading anything; even your lyrics. Talk about catching me off guard. Wow! Cool song all the way around...concept to performance. I really enjoyed it! ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)

Truly creative. And entertaining.
The musical bed is delightful. Complexity honed to simplicity. Art!
A wonderful vocal - nuanced and varied like a Monty Python skit.
Good mix. Much going on, yet, bright and clear.
Unique. Wonderful.

Misha, you are one creative artist!! The backtrack on this has an almost hypnotizing effect on the listener. The vocals are done very nicely (loved the low growling part). Lyrics are very interestingly put together allowing the listener to go different directions with their own interpretation! Thanks, Torrey

Wow - what a unique and enticing song! Makes for an incredibly interesting listening experience. Extremely abstract, and the lyricism is almost dizzying - I actually really liked it! Kept me on my toes. Thanks for sharing ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)
Cheers, Deryk

In the first verses it reminded me so much of Donald Fagen's phrasing
and out of the ordinary words and imagery from the heyday of Steely Dan
with his writing partner Walter Becker.
super creative, funny and cynical
a joy to listen to,
Kenny

How do come up with these wonderful stream of conscious lyrics... Vivid images smashed together, one after the other...
World is a piggy bank with a fallen out bottom cap melting butter and a cowhide whip Making love through the fine mesh of mosquito net...
And so many more... You just keep them coming throughout the song... Excellent job with great & humorous sound effects...
You certainly do good & unusual works... I like it!

Wow, that is a lot of awesome feedback I got for this weird tune! Rob, Thank you for your support! I did not mean to be confusing, more like free flow of thought, but loved your comment! --------------------------------------------- Ezekiel's Storm, Thank you for kind words! I am glad you mentioned ending. When I gave this to my wife, she said everything is cool except for ending... Well, at least I got you on my side on it ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) ---------------------------------------------- Peter, Thank you for listening and super feedback! I am glad you found it interesting. -------------------------------------------------- Ray, Thank you! Tom Waits has a special place in my heart. Honestly, I was not trying to copy-cat the master, at least not intentionally, but in some strange way I feel deep connection to his archaic methods ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) ------------------------------------------------- Dave, Thank you for taking time and processing this little craft. I am glad you liked it! Thank you for kind words and your feedback on sc. Gotto write some strange blues now and ask you to join ------------------------------------------------- HearToLearn ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) Be careful, I might steal this wonderful basketness worth of delicious kilo-calories for the next trip to the warehouse....or eat it all alone with a flashlight, sending beams to natives of the world far below. Thank you! I liked your initial feedback very much! --------------------------------------------------- FJ, Thank you for giving this time and wonderful feedback! You are too kind, it is far from art. More like an unusual insect trapping. I do not believe I can repeat this even if I really wanted ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) Thank you on the mix comment. I know it has whole bunch of issues mainly because of Midi and Real Tracks marriage, but it is a learning process, which I feel never ends. And that is a good thing. -------------------------------------------------- Torrey, thank you for extra nice feedback! A friend, who is a musician told me once that music has to make sense to you, the writer, people will find their own meaning(s). Interesting, that you said it in very similar way...Or you both read same books ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) ------------------------------- J&B, thank you for taking time and listening to this tune!! I got lucky on arrangement. I was able to grab it before it disappeared into abyss ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) I know mix is not that good on this, that is probably why it was the last comment on your list... (joking), but believe me, I am trying. I often think of the points Bud shared. One day... ---------------------------------- Deryk, I am glad you found it entertaining! Thank you for listening and your feedback! ----------------------------------- Kenny, Thanks man! Very nice feedback. I guess part of me is cynical ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) ----------------------------------- Jim, thank you for taking a closer look at this tune! I wrote most of it half awake, that is why it is a bit gibberish, but when I tried to sing it, it worked... so I just left it ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) Sort of "found object" tune. Thank you for your kind feedback! ---------------------------------- Hans, Thank you for listening and your feedback here and on SC! On our previous conversation, this was recorded on Blue Yeti Pro. ----------------------------------- Janne, Thank you for listening and very cool comments Misha.

Punch punch punch with artful images to a backing somewhere between jazz-club/martini bar and musical theater. Misha, I don't think you could write a song about a puppy unless it was eating Tolstoy and named Metaphor. Wonderful production as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the listen.

Thank you for your kind feedback! Misha. It doesn't sound "gibberish" to my ears... That's why I used "stream of consciousness"... Its more akin to taking a thought & then twisting it to produce something seemingly unique... John Lennon, Dylan & others developed a knack at playing word games like you seem to be doing in this song... Some songs like this needs more study so I can steal learn your magic for my own future use ![shocked shocked](/forums/images/graemlins/default/shocked.gif)

fj Hi Misha, I always look forward to your songs ,,, they're always a lot of fun and a little different than the regular we hear on the forum. I fully agree with Floyd's comment, especially the one about the Monty Python skit. That was a great listen! Best to you ... Alan
