I have created RT's in Biab and have loaded them into RealBand. Now I want to drag each RT into Sonar 8.5. No luck as of yet.
I enter the DAW plugin mode, and click the track I want to drag. I have tried left clicking on the track and dragging...nada. I have tried left clicking on the track icon and dragging...nada.
Is there a way to simply select all of the audio on the track. copy it and paste it into Sonar??
What am I missing here as far as dragging and dropping? I have followed the manual. Can I drag and drop from RealBand or only Biab?
Color me confused.

I haven't tried it from RealBand, but when I drag from BIAB into SONAR, I notice there is a 10 second delay (and I have a fast system) which I assume is while the temp file is being created. During this time, nothing appears to be happening. Did you give it sufficient time to work?

Well I don't have Sonar, but I assume the principles and bottlenecks will be the same. Therefore you might want to check my (half)solutions here: http://www.pgmusic.com/ubbthreads/showfl...SID=#Post255166I can tell you also that grabbing the tracks in Realband as far as I know, have to be done one by one. Grabbing is done by putting your mousepointer on the tracknumber, hold the mouse and drag it over. Probably I assume, that alone will not do the trick, therefore I think you might find answers in the thread for which I just put this link.

I did get it to work......finally.
From RealBand...the issue is how to select the contents of the track, and not just the track itself. Here's how I did this.
I double click the real band audio track, and it pulls up the edit Audio screen. I select "select whole", exit out of edit Audio, and the entire track is now selected.
Now I simply click on the track number and drag the file into Sonar.
Is there a simpler way of selecting the audio in a track in Real Band?

for selecting the whole track you could just select the track and press "ctrl"+ "a", or rightmouse click in the track and select "select whole track" in the menu that pops up...

I noticed that BIAB creates the drag-n-drop files to the to the folder used for the song when dragged into Sonar. This would account for the delay I suppose. There might be an option to disable this file creation but I haven't looked into it yet.

Agreed. We discussed this a bit in beta testing. We concluded that some external programs make a copy of the files and support non-destructive editing, but some do not. I think Peter Gannon designed it this way so it will work with any program that accepts drag and drop.
My only suggestion would be to see an hourglass or similar, so we know something is happening. In the meantime, just give it a bit of time to make those copies.

In RB you don't have to do anything except left click on the track # and drag. Don't have to select anything. Just click and drag to Sonar.
