I was constantly thinking of it getting higher and higher and I was also trying to measure the audience interest level ,trying to bring something new along every few bars. No, not really - there is a huge amount of work out there in the classical frame made in the 20th & 21st centuries. The term covers a massive range of styles, structures, orchestra types etc. and you could pprobably pop yourself into it but orchestral ambient is what it is - more or less. This is a snippet of my current favourite "modern classical"

Wow - this is gorgeous Definitely has a cinematic feeling to it. I can imagine it definitely sounding right in place as part of a movie soundtrack. It is calming and epic and pretty all at the same time. The ebb and flow of it fantastic.
