Say you have a delay effect on a RT, and you want to switch from, for example, quarter note delay to dotted 8th notes on a particular beat in a particular measure.

I understand that where you have a "continuous knob" (e.g. filter depth, that does not increase in given steps, but has a smooth ramp) you can MIDI learn a CC channel and draw in a curve/line. However, how does one switch knobs that have absolute values.

I actually have the same question with MIDI where, for instance, I'd like to switch the articulations on a string section in Kontakt from tremolo to sforzando. (Yes, I know there are non-sounding notes in regions of the keyboard that may be used as switches, but let's imagine that there weren't, and instead you had to physically switch the knob by inserting a note...like if I had a MIDI VST where I could see in the layout where I would change it in real-time, but I actually want to automate the switch).

Where would I insert those notes in BiaB? I know there is the event editor, but I've never used it, and I'm having difficulty figuring out how I would find the link between a specific parameter and how to input the event.

Is there something a "last touched" function similar to that you could use with mod wheels on a MIDI controller but that can be automated within BIAB both on RTs and MIDI tracks for switching not patches, but parameters within a patch?

(Hope this word salad made sense, lol).

Thanks in advance!
