Har BIAB 2009 Audiophile versionen på hårddisk. Beställde precis BIAB 2010 Audiophile versionen från PG Music. Det slår mig nu så här i efterhand att den här versionen ligger på en hårddisk som kräver extern strömförsörjning. Har tidigare kopplat 2009 versionen till min bärbara som då strömförsörjts via USB. Men om jag nu ska ha extern strömförsörjning så undra jag om BIAB 2010s hårddisk fungerar i svenskt elnät? Jag har sen tidigare adaptrar så att kontakterna fungerar men det är ju värre om hårddisken överhuvud taget inte klarar av 220 W.
Ett annat problem med extern strömförsörjning är att det tidigare var mycket smidigt att ta med sig sin bärbara dator och arbeta utan att behöva vara låst till ett eluttag. Med 2010 blir detta inte möjligt då jag internt i datorn inte har hårddisk kapacitet att lägga över hela versionen. Är det så att med Audiophile versionen så medföljer Wav filerna och de komprimerade? Om de komprimerade filerna följer med så skulle jag kunna lägga programmet på hårddisken och endast ta fram den externa hårddisken när jag behöver tillgång till Wav-filerna. Går detta och hur gör man?
Jag hade hoppats att de komprimerade filerna skulle gå att ladda ner efter beställningen men får då ett meddelande att Audiophile versionen är så stor att den inte går att ladda ner. Kunde man inte ha fått ladda hem de komprimerade filerna?

Jag har vidarebefordrat dessa frågor till deras support. Vad gäller strömstyrkan så har jag inte hört att den skulle vara otillräcklig, känner en som beställde Audiophile-disken förra året och det har inte varit några problem. På den andra frågan har jag kollat lite på forumet; det är så att filerna kommer med RealTracks som både wav och wma-filer. Programmet använder dock automatiskt wav-filerna, men du kan installera de mindre utrymmeskrävande .wma-filerna på din interna hårddisk. .Wav-filerna kan inte avkomprimeras för då förlorar man den "lossless-audio" som wav-filerna innebär.
Men tänk också på att i 2010-version laddas audio-filerna betydligt snabbare och ljudkvalitetsmässigt är det svårt att höra om .wav är bättre än .wma, så många använder nu .wma alltid, vilket ju tar mycket mindre plats. Men jag återkommer när jag fått deras svar, eller har mer info.

Tack för respons.
Jag sitter inte vid mitt BAB 2009 just nu men jag har för mig att varje Realdrums och Realband finns på hårddisken i både Wav och wma format. Í all enkelhet spelade jag in en skiva med en ungdomskör och använde då BIAB 2009. Jag köpte audiophile versionen för just omständigheter som kräver lite mer kritisk lyssning. Så här i efterhand kanske audiophile versionen är onödig. Borde ha beställt BIAB 2010 med endast wna formatet så skulle jag inte behöva extern strömförsörjning. Men om det nu finns en möjlighet att använda sig av wma som en kopia på hårddisken OCH Wav via externa hårddisken så vore det perfekt. Men jag avvaktar vidare svar.

Programmet använder dock automatiskt wav-filerna, men du kan installera de mindre utrymmeskrävande .wma-filerna på din interna hårddisk. .Wav-filerna kan inte avkomprimeras för då förlorar man den "lossless-audio" som wav-filerna innebär. Audiophile-disken med wav är ett mycket bra alternativ.

Så bra. Då kan man föra över wma filerna till interna hårddisken och wav, när det behövs, köras direkt från externa hårddisken. Det verkar dock vara ett riktigt hästjobb att föra över wma filerna manuellt till interna hårddisken. Det blir några filer... Bekväm som jag är så undrar jag om BIAB har någon funktion för detta eller om det finns andra sätt att göra kopieringen smidig?

Hej igen Patrik,
Jag fick nu svaret från supporten; Poweradaptorn är på 120V. Man behöver en converter för 220V till 120V för Audiophile-disken.
Den kommer med komprimerade och okomprimerade wav-filer. Det är ju saker du redan vet vid det här laget, men bra att få dem från PGMusic också.

Jag fick hårddisken med posten igår och har nu installerat. Det kanske är vikrigt att poängtera att det inte är en "converter" utan snarare en adapter så att eluttaget passar svenska eluttag. Själva adaptern som följer med klarar både amerikansk som svensk strömstyrka.
Jag valde installationsalternativ 3 och det fungerade smärtfritt. Så nu har jag programmet och de kompressade filerna på interna hårddisken. Utmärkt!
Märkligt företag de här PGMusic. BIAB är ett helt fenomenalt program och jag är mycket förvånad över att det inte skrivs mer om programmet än vad det görs. Kanske har det ett visst dåligt rykte som baseras på jag vet inte vad. Lägg till en hemsida som är minst sagt rörig, layout på programmet som känns 90-tal och hårdisken kommer i en kartong med hårddisktillverkarens loga och reklam på. Men programmet är fantastiskt och supporten underbar. Som sagt, märkligt att det inte är mer uppmärksammat. Användningsområdena är otaliga, inte minst i undervisning. Och framför allt, ett roligt program. Hur ofta kan man säga det om datorprogram?

Som gammal "musik-pulare" tror jag förklaringen ligger i att det är lite "skämmigt" att använda sig av BIAB. Damtidning-hos-frissan-syndromet. Tror många inte vill kännas vid att man tar hjälp. Så var det när trummaskinen kom, sequensern, samplern osv.
