Yes, as Windows has an advertising campaign saying win apps just keep running and you don't need a new app version for each new os version update so apple did not want to be out done by this and will make it so from the next island version on stay compatible with apps. I think too it's from all the complaining, standing up and feedback mac user have been giving apple and not just to take what apple thinks is best and just grin n bear it (you must follow and obey the leader at all times).
