Hi All,

This is a song called MAINLINE.

The sky was coming down
All around the stars
Footprints in the night
Lighting up the dark
Like a path or a tunnel through the haze
Like an axe coming down to spilt the days
She’s a vision up against the fading light
She’s a ghost in a line of crooked sight

And she don’t pay no mind
And she don’t pay no mind
Moving in and out of time
Baby’s on the mainline

It could have been Detroit
Or a condo by the sea
In the middle of the night
In Kansas City
Like a jet or a rocket to the sun
Like a war that never will be won
I’m on a mission to unwind the crime
I’m a shape shifter running out of time

And she don’t pay no mind
And she don’t pay no mind
Moving in and out of time
Baby’s on the mainline

I’m on a mission to unwind the crime
I’m a shape shifter running out of time

And she don’t pay no mind
And she don’t pay no mind
Moving in and out of time
Baby’s on the mainline
Baby’s on the mainline
Baby’s on the mainline
Baby’s on the mainline
Baby’s on the mainline

As usual, well written, sung and produced. Nice emotion in the vocals.

The baritone guitar is really effective, and fits in like it was written for this song.

I also like your use of weak rhymes in the first verse - stars/dark, path/axe.

The line She’s a ghost in a line of crooked sight is especially cool.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Bob,
You are one creative guy! Very good energy from this one!
I like your use of tremolo. I think it suits the style and "slowing down" things pleasantly. Production is excellent as always.

Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

Excellent!

Some very cool lines, "I’m a shape shifter running out of time", nice!

Also really like:
"She’s a vision up against the fading light
She’s a ghost in a line of crooked sight"

Nice production, very effective starting off with just the guitars.

And that baritone guitar fits your material so well, such a great sound! Makes me want to buy one smile

Another great song, my new favorite I think.

Bob,

You have a mainline to the songwriting muse these days. This has all the cool things we expect from your sound and of course, the lines already mentioned that are spine tingling good.
I also think its one of your best vocals.
Fine work.

Hello Robert, what a marvelous song I might say! The different elements really glue well together and the instruments are layered nicely. Fantastic work on the vocals. Thanks for sharing!

I had trouble getting to this as the title made the Kiss song, from Hotter Than Hell, kept jumping into my mind when I saw the title.
I wouldn't call them weak rhymes - the are "family" rhymes and more from the frictive set...

Nice backing and chord progression.

Very well done! Love your vocals on this - they absolutely soar. The slow progression on this was perfect also. Some great progressions, and the perfect level of catchy too.

Thanks for sharing smile

Bob,

"You have a mainline to the songwriting muse these days" Robertkc

I agree!

I'm really loving your arrangements, when those drums come in, it's like thunder.

And the baritone punctuates in all the right places.

Another catchy and cool song,

Kenny
