3 choruses and an ending, I've never used.
It would be nice to set my OWN new file parameters.
And such a simple tweak.

I think BIAB was designed to practice jazz songs from fakebooks. This is no longer the way everyone uses the program. Yes, there are workarounds but please make it possible for the user to select defaults for a new song.

I rarely use the chorus setting so having a preset file configuration is a great idea.
I'm in a fitness protection program. I'm been hiding from exercise.

I don't think that keeping the default for these items is such a bad idea. If they were left unresolved we can imagine the number of questions that would show up on this forum when a new user tries to write a song. Why can't I get a chorus, how many bars in my song, etc
I do think that allowing a user to set the default via the preferences, and having that default stay is preferable, but realistically this is a pretty low level request. It's easy to set the defaults now, either by changing them on the screen or by the methods listed in this thread.
This is situation that probably only occurs a couple of times for everyone until they understand how to use the product, and then it never happens again.
It's an idea that could probably have been implemented years ago but never was. I might even see more problems when users that have 'grown up' with the system now have to set defaults.
In my opinion there are more important things to work on

The number of +1's indicates I'm not alone here. Regarding the can of worms Dave alludes to, New file DEFAULT or CUSTOM is the only needed option.
