Hi Folks,
I want to get a new Lenovo Thinkpad to use almost entirely in my "music studio" in the basement.
I would use AudioBox USB 96 audio interface and run programs like:
- BIAB
- PianoTeq
- StudioOne
Ideally the PC would have power to spare so I would not have latency or audio break up issues, even with multiple tracks and long songs.
I would say my budget is in the $1000 ballpark.
Can you recommend requirements for this PC?

Lenovo is a great choice I have 2 just for music. AMD processors, separate video card,largest hd, all the memory you can get.

I would be looking for an i5 or better. From what I read the Intel chips provide better performance. Some of the plugins I use (TH3 for example) state i5 or better. I would also go for 8gig or more and 256gig or more SSD. (but I spec over the top to future proof a bit).
Not sure where you live so I can’t identify prices. However, looking at the WEB it should fit close to your price range.

The CPU is the first priority. Intel I5 is good, i7 is better.
8 GB of RAM.
Get an SSD in the laptop. Put BIAB on it but you can run the RealTracks and RealDrums from PG Music’s external drive.
The graphics card is not important for BIAB.
Set the processor to run at full power and disable USB selective suspend.
