<< . . . the event happens before the first bar, which we cannot see or edit. >>

There's an easy way to see before the first bar of an Artist Performance Track in BIAB. I do not have the particular file in question and the Performance Track BB file I opened did not have pick up notes, but the space and a chord occupied the same space as a pickup note would.

I suggest you make a copy of the BB file prior to completing these steps so as to not possibly corrupt the original.

Open the Artist Performance Track in BIAB

Move the Artist Performance Track to Audio Track Top Tool Bar-(Audio\Move Performance Track to Audio. . .)

Open the Audio File in the Audio Chord Wizard

Select Yes when prompted to preserve Bar Lines and Chords

After doing procedure, I could see and edit the area preceding the first bar. I did not test editing and generating since there were no pickup notes in the audio.

Alternately, once the Performance Track is moved to the Audio Track, you can see the lead in bar by opening the Audio Editor or selecting the Audio Track and opening the Notation view.

To reverse this procedure

Move the audio file to a Performance Track.
