MISSED CHANCES

This quiet little thing started when I heard a style demo .sgu file and immediately though I could make something 'more' out of it. So it has to be firmly acknowledged here that the chords were already there by some PG genius before I even started (I added just one).
I did however adjust the parts into something a bit more song-like than the standard 3x of everything most the PG songs come in, but otherwise kept the chords as is. Likewise, I also kept the style itself (_MISSED for those who wanna look at the instrumentation) as is in terms of instruments, I just adjusted which should be silent at what parts and then added an RT soprano sax soloist for some flourishes where the chords go outside the key as it's called - mainly because that shift rather stumped me, tbh, but it came out so much better than I ever had expected.

Enjoy! cool

A very intriguing piece of music. I think the texture of the flute fits better than the sax but that might just be my personal taste. Interesting chord progression. Definitely worth another listen.

I actually picked the soprano sax precisely with the intention of contrast, so it's all good. Thanks for the feedback and for the second listen, I never expect that people actually come back to anything I put out there cool

I've put this one onto SC now for those who prefer that medium, found HERE

P.S: And while I'm in here, I might as well complete the 'formalities':

Style is _MISSED.STY

Topped off with yours truly emulating a Pan Flute via keyboard for the melody.

That came out well. Very pretty sound and a lilting melody.

A very pretty and coherent instrumental. Sounds great at mid-volume and I never tried to "turn it up" as it floated very nicely right there. Much enjoyed.

Thanks for that...and no, this is definitely not one of the "crank it up!" pieces out there cool

Well done. Getting a cohesive all RT backing mix often is challenging but always doable if the time is taken...at least for me.

Your flute sits in with that style very nicely. And, as alluded to above, the way the RT's work with it is a great demo of the power of BiaB when thoughtfully arranged.

Really nice!

PS I too have borrowed some demo progressions smile
PPS Upon another listen Janice said it reminds her of our bike ride through wildflower meadow countrysides.

Nicely done, Icelander smile It has a peaceful, tranquil quality to it that I liked. Definitely a floaty kind of tune - I thought the pan flute fit perfectly in the mix.

Thanks for sharing!

You did?! I kept checking your posts for a long while after you showed me what you had done with it, but none ever seemed to come to the public so I just figured you had moved on to better things and stopped checking.
I'll be sure to check it out, thanks for letting me know cool

p.s. I never 'left' as such, am just more in the less public forums lately... but I'm glad someone missed me grin
