Moin zusammen.
Ich habe BiaB vor gefühlt 40 Jahren (damals noch auf dem ATARI, glauch ich) kennen gelernt, ein wenig damit gearbeitet und dann lange Zeit keine Musik mehr gemacht... ☹️
JETZT habe ich Zeit, mir die WIN 2019 Version gekauft und bin hellauf begeistert von den vielen Möglichkeiten und erschlagen von den vielen Features.
Frage 1: Ist es tatsächlich nur möglich Keyboard-Einspielungen (MIDI) auf den beiden einzig dafür vorgesehenen Spuren (Melody und Harmony) aufzunehmen oder gibt es eine Möglichkeit mehrere zusätzliche MIDI-Spuren zu erzeugen und darauf aufzunehmen?
Frage 2: Ich habe auf einer Instrumentenspur (Piano) im Mixer ein anderes Instrument gesetzt (Cello) und dann im Piano-Roll-Fenster einige MIDI-Events verändert. (Tonhöhe, Länge) BiaB lässt das zu, zeigt es auch an ABER wenn ich dann den Song abspiele (egal ob mit Play oder GenPlay) spielt das Programm die ursprünglichen Noten und ignoriert meine Änderungen. Gibt es dafür eine Erklärung oder einen Workaround?

Zu Frage 1:
BiaB unterstützt insgesamt sieben Spuren, von denen in der Tat lediglich zwei via Midi bespielt werden können – Melodie- und Solospur.
Es ist grundsätzlich möglich mehr als zwei Spuren aufzunehmen, indem man jeweils eine aufgenomme Melodiespur auf eine der für Arrangements reservierten Spuren (also etwa die Spuren B, P, D, G, S) kopiert und anschließend 'einfriert'. Eingefrorene Spuren werden nicht neu generiert bei einem Klick auf den Knopf 'Play' oder 'GenPlay'.
Zu Frage 2:
Die Piano Spur ist für Arrangements reserviert und wird bei Start eines Songs üblicherweise jedes Mal entsprechend des gewählten Styles neu generiert. Änderungen einer für Arrangements reservierten Spur werden somit regelmäßig überschrieben, sofern diese Spur nicht via Klick auf den Knopf mit der Schneeflocke eingefroren wurde. Einfrieren ist daher ein geeigneter 'Workaround' um Änderungen beizubehalten.
BiaB kommt in der Windows Version mit dem Programm Realband. Realband unterstützt 48 Spuren, die, wie für einen Sequenzer üblich, problemlos via Midi bespielt werden können. Realband kommuniziert gut mit BiaB und kann mittels BiaB Styles auch BiaB-typische Arrangements generieren.

Vielen Dank Martin, das ist sehr hilfreich. Dann muss ich mich wohl doch mal mit RealBand auseinandersetzen... Ist ja nicht unkompliziert.
