Essentially, the functionality is largely identical between the two versions, especially if you are simply using the program to create backing tracks.

One difference is that some 32 bit DXi's won't run on the 64 bit version. But there are alternatives that do work.

The Coyote Forte DXi is only compatible with the 32-bit version of Band-in-a-Box, however, there are other 64 bit compatible software synths that can be used instead.

I use the 64 bit version.
