Hi Bob
Just a final thought on this.
As you say the midi was derived from a Biab file it may throw some light.

If you Save song as special / save as midi file, from a BIAB SGU / MGU you will save patch settings in any tracks at any bar, that they were set with F5 bar settings to change patch.
In BIAB you can tell if there are bar settings at a bar by a red _ underscore under the bar number of a bar.
You can print or view a summary of these with the “print summary” button bottom left of the F5 settings window. This will give you a text file.

EG,
**** Band-in-a-Box Report of Changes in the song at any bar ******
Song Title is: Ben, File Name is C:\Users\Mike Head\Music\My BIAB Songs\mike ben.MGU [Sat, 09 Jan 2016 15:17:30]
Bar 25: All Choruses,Piano 2, Patch Change = 12 Vibes

Bar 30: All Choruses,Piano 2, Patch Change = 12 Vibes

Bar 34: All Choruses,Piano 2, Patch Change = 1 Acoustic Piano

You will have to refer back to the original sgu in BIAB to find which tracks contain the patch changes by viewing the bar settings for the effected bar . the channels used for the mixer tracks can be seen under Options/Preferences/Channels this uses the generic track names!

Mike
