Since I am using email now through the Window's Live website and not Outlook Express I can't embed websites. I usually drag across the web address--copy--paste and it appears in my email highlighted. With Window's Live it doesn't function that way. Any ideas?

Joan. This is my suggestion. I twisted some arms with the seniors at my breakfast club and they are all happy with this.
Gmail is google's product. You can 'fetch' your mail from where ever. I have 3 email accounts, they consolidate in Gmail. The spam filter works 99.9 percent of the time. The only issue is when I get .exe files, say from PG music. They go there due to the extension, which is properly considered a threat.
The software opens a world of possibilities including a lot of storage space. As I said to my friends I see if I tell you I need a new fridge there might be ads for refrigerator sales in my city on the right. I don't notice them, though once it turned out to be useful when looking for an audio device.
Googles use of document storage and handling gives me flexibility for the few clients I still do consulting with, I can make a spreadsheet and share it, or edit it at multiple levels of participation.
I believe software should be easy to use, and I think gmail is head and shoulders above any other email client I have used, including the linux ones.
PS. Where (generally) are you for how long? I'm staring at the snow and wishing I could pack up and get where it's warm. But my wife's still working 7 to 6 and well, I'm not going without her.
BTW, getting a gmail account is free, and it's nice to see the emails and replies grouped so you can open the entire relevant conversation without having to sort through days of emails, though I admit I get too many...it's my 'senior' friends sending me stuff I normally ignore. I'm too polite to tell them to stop sending me crazy jokes...LOL.

I imagine they are also too polite to tell you to stop sending them your own normal musings, errr, uuhh, I mean, crazy jokes. LOL
(and I say that in the spirit of always enjoying your musings on the forum)

No, the guys in the breakfast club get my 'musings' live. In person. Better that way by a long shot.
I actually don't send many emails. In fact they'd all be related to other stuff I do. I'm trying to replace water heaters in a building built in 1873 at the moment, and have to get a 4 story chimney relined to meet codes, about 20 emails on that so far, because relocate and redo the plumbing could be plan b but I can't powervent up 4 stories plus chimney height, and relocation involves 100 plus feet of 1 inch copper pipe. ARrgh.
If I went through my emails I get 20 a day, and send about 4 a week. I never send jokes or crazy stuff in emails.
I am old enough and sort of first in with the net and Unix. And been around the block. My brother taught my Dad how to use Outlook Express and I spend an hour a month trying to help him despite the fact I have not even seen the program for years. What works I leave alone if possible.
I learn quick for my age LOL. I found out the other day if I put a realtrack on the soloist all kinds of stuff comes out where I don't want it and it sends my external midi stuff haywire. So I just don't do that anymore. Until a few builds, and I'll pull out the old steno book and go, try that again and then go 'Bad Idea!" or "It's fixed!"
I try and keep things less than serious if at all possible. It solves a world of ills, and keeps me going.

I don't think I want to change emails. I was just looking for how to use Windows Live and get websites embedded. There must be a process for it.

Yes, I am copying the entire http site name. This might be a Mozilla Firefox problem and not related to Windows Live. I was reading some messages in a Tech forum that others were having this issue within Firefox. So I did check a few of my prefs in Firefox but not finding anything. It might also have been a result of the newest firefox update. I'll try searching for another update.

Ha, more likely m$ coding to break FF - I've seen what appears to be that kind of behaviour from them more than once...

I found it. There is an icon that allows me to "Insert Hyperlink" in a window and then insert it into the email. So it is one more step in the process than I have been used to. So problem solved.
