I don't write songs in lyric form and then add the music anymore. I did this for a long time, now, I go into my studio, began getting a rythym with guitar, drums or BIAB, start getting my recorder set up, and then began writing along with whatever I am playing chord wise or listening to BIAB after i have added chords. I may have a line of lyric in mind, or a general feel of what I want and sometimes nothing before hand. I let it flow out naturally and then make adjustments for ryhme etc. As soon as I get a good write I then record it. usually around 2 - 3 hours from start to finish. I think that is sort of the way the beatles, John and Paul would write in the early days. It doesn't stretch me out for long periods of time. It works well for me, quick and appropriate. Cliff
