I love watching these people playing their instruments. Those Japanese drums have such a fantastic sound. It's a warm sound similar to congas and bongos. I've never seen them before.

Thank you so much for sharing it. I like to think that I travel lots of places on Youtube but I've never once come across anything like this.

I actually found it originally on Facebook about a year or two ago, and the sound and the instruments stuck with me.

This video lead to some really cool conversations I have had with people about Japanese culture. My roommate lived and went to school in Japan for a year during high school where she learned about traditional households that still have women take on and master one of three skills, and one of them is learning one of the traditional Japanese instruments you see in the video. I'm not entirely positive how wide spread that still is, and I haven't looked in to it any further than some passing comments my roommate said about what my roomie learned easily two decades ago that may not be entirely accurate, but it definitely was really fascinating and lead me down some cool rabbit holes on Youtube!
