I think you confused us when you stated you were a new user, but didn't mention that you were using the version of the program that is something like eight years old now. PowerTracks is up to version 12; if you are using version 8, that was from back in 2002. A lot has happened since then. The answers that have been given are based on more recent versions of the program.

For $29, you can upgrade to version 12 (or $49 to get more RealDrums with it). There are other upgrade options, as well.
