Hi Forum friends. Been listening to some great stuff here lately! This song came about in a strange way. In the morning, I was looking for electric guitar fingerpicked in BIAB.....always like the sound of a fingerpicked electric and you don't hear it often. I found this track and played around with a melody, but had no idea for a lyric. That afternoon, I went to the movies and watched a film called Everything Everything. Maybe I was just in the right mood but I loved it! I was inspired to write a song about it, and it happened that the new music just worked. Here is the result. Hope you like it! A truly beautiful song Greg. Your voice is perfect for this heartbreaking lyric.
I love the piano sound and style. Did you record that? Or is it that a RealTrack (if so, which one?)

Songs in this genre is very easy to screw up., yours is deep and sincere. Lyrics are easy to grasp and flow very smoothly. Excellent composition and performance. Mixed top notch. Enjoyed it!

A nice one... You've done a splendid job on this one... I guess sometimes going to a movie pays much more dividends than just mere entertainment ! BTW... This one is listed as "Sutherland Road" on SoundCloud... I'm getting ready to listen to "Before I Die"

After the preamble I expected finger picked electric out of the gate but the piano is very nice and it with the fiddle & bass make a nice combo.

Very nice work on this tune. The references to Jackson Browne are right on target.

At the risk of being redundant...this could EASILY be a tune from one of
Jackson Brown's albums. All the way down to the piano.
As with all your songs the vocal is power packed with emotion
and outstanding in quality.
The sad tale is beautifully written.
All of the above is wrapped in a production that sounds excellent on the monitors.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
