Sounds good, John. Yes, the money makes more sense now.

For my small PA, I use Yamaha 12" monitors (the ones with the flat corner, so they can be used to angle up as monitors, or be placed on speaker stands. The speaker stands, to get them off the floor, makes a huge difference in covering a room full of people and things.

If you go the piano amp route, consider what Dave mentioned about wheels and handles. As you know from being a bass player, the magnet alone must be big, and that makes things heavy. My Hartke has neither wheels nor handles. Every year that I get older, my amp gets heavier. I wonder why that is?
