I've just had a look at the Captains plugins.

To me, they look like an alternative to BIAB in that they are used to create instrumental backings using MIDI. BIAB does exactly this as well as create instrumental backings using audio.

I can't say whether Captains plugins would work in BIAB. That said, I reckon that the best place to get the most out of the combination of Captains plugins and BIAB would be the DAW environment. By using BIAB VST and Captains plugins in a DAW, you'd be able to mix and match the tracks produced by each of them.
