A bit of history.

The BIAB DAW Plugin mode has been around for several years. It is only for added convenience to drag and drop tracks to a DAW. It does just two things:

1) reduce the program window size

2) keep the (now smaller) BIAB window on top.

You don’t need it. You could always reduce the BIAB window yourself and do your drag ‘n drop. In fact, people on occasion get confused when this mode is on and they think they can’t find a program, window, error message etc. Some of us suggested a visual indicator be added so you know whether or not you turned this mode on. An experienced user got fooled by this just two weeks ago.

Then, years later after that feature, we all became more accustomed to using VST2 then VST3 plugins, and in BIAB 2018, after MANY requests by users, PG Music introduced the new BIAB plugin.

It’s just unfortunate the name overlap of ‘plugin’ causes a bit of confusion between these entirely different things.

Hope that helped.
