I've scanned with multiple AV and malware tools and even used a net tool to watch its connections and and monitor its download of the said "free" lib.

It's no more obnoxious/dangerous than Native Access for NI, eLicenser Control for Steinberg, ToonTrack Product Manager for the "eZ this and that" line of stuff, Sonokenetic Manager, that much hated, BY ME, stupid Command Center for Sonar, and dozens of others.

As a matter of fact after you've used "Pulse' to downloaded and install the Palette Primary Colors folder lib (~1.24 GB), suggest same place you put/install other Kontakt libs so that Kontakt can find it. Then just make a few copies of that folder (safety copies) zip/RAR it up, keep copies in multiple locations with some being off the PC altogether - then you can uninstall Pulse, it is not needed again, unless you buy other stuff from Red room Audio.
