Hi, I am new to this forum, but not new to BiaB. My brother has been here and told me about this site. This piece is an original by me. I use BiaB to make the rhythm background (Bass, Drums, Piano, and guitar), then I record me playing the trumpet line(s). I then mix the performance down in Bandlabs DAW to create the mix. Here is the link to the Soundcloud file for your listening pleasure: https://soundcloud.com/user3562166/cold-winters-day

wrayer,

A nice listen. Nicely played and recorded. Mixed well. Sounds good.

(the ending is a little abrupt)

Very nice listen. Love the harmony lines with the trumpets. Sax was cool as well

Nice job on this one...
I like the trumpet lines...
But I'm just curious about the abrupt ending smile

Anyway I enjoyed it...
And I'd like to say...
Welcome to the forum...
And I'm hoping I'll hear more of your creations!

I like the melody and the arrangement -very nice indeed! But the ending of the tune could be a bit more smooth. Because the track is so good it almost feels like a disappointment that it is ending so abrupt.

Looking forward to hear more songs from you!

Welcome to the forums! Nicely done - the harmonies are top notch, and it flows tremendously well. I thought the mix was really on point as well.

Thanks for sharing - looking forward to hearing more smile

Excellent introduction piece and fun trumpet playing!
I see some mentioned abrupt ending... I actually like it. I would put some sort of reverb or delay on the very last few seconds on trumpet, so it fades gentler, but as far as arrangement goes, I like spontaneous endings smile
Thank you for sharing!

Nice playing, made for a pleasant trip. Everybody has already mentioned the ending. Not a big deal, it was easy to listen to.

Three very different horn sounds in this really smooth bossa track.
There were a couple of spots in the louder aggressive part when I thought you may have rush a few phrases but the blended mellow part after that is a great juxtaposition so I'll assume it was intentional.
I like the ending but, as Rustyspoon suggests, a bit of delay or echo on that last note so that it repeats and fades would keep the surprise but also let a listen flow with the cascade of cadence.

Cheers

TO all, Thanks for the comments. That is important to me. I am new to the mixing business, but an old time player. Yes, my brother is the sax man. He has posted pieces here also. My degree is a Masters in Music Composition. These little "ditties" are just for the fun of it.They keep my 'chops' going. I will work on the ending. I might try the reverb on the ending of my playing (trumpet) to see how that works. Again, thanks for the comments.
