I agree whole heartedly with what Mario said. I often look at comments on the Forums and think why complicate stuff. Create and generate in BIAB. Then in my case at least move the tracks to a DAW for further editing and/or mixing. I use Reaper or maybe Cakewalk if adding or altering MIDI stuff (I use Cakewalk for MIDI as I am more familiar with MIDI in Cakewalk).

Using a hammer to tighten screws or a screw driver to fasten nails is not good practice. Using the correct tool for its function makes life easier.

I use the finished (“mastered”) tracks for live performances. A number of other performers have asked where I source my backing tracks and are amazed when I tell them (in some cases show them how they are made using the processes discussed.

Thanks everyone. Yes the vst plugin, I had seen it in action in some PG Youtube videos.
I'm not sure BIAB client base is 60+. I'm sure there are people from all ages using it.

So, based on the replies here BIAB hasn't been too ambitious and fulfill all its promises. That's good to hear since I've been considering making a purchase. I am into jazz fusion so I need more than a C chord or D minor. Was concerned about BIAB not playing mMaj7 for instance. But that's for another topic.

The point was to know whether or not BIAB should just have stayed in the "backing track business" improving with many new styles and real tracks, or make the switch like it did with a more complete offer. I still believe that it is not very user friendly to mix a new concept (recording and all the new features) in the original interface designed for only backing tracks and that it has its limitation if not in results at least in user friendly fashion. If you develop a new mindset for BIAB making it a more complete musical software I don't think that keeping the original interface is the way to go. But that's just me and some other may differ.

I'm glad to hear that people here are able to compose the way they want with BIAB regardless of the interface and bugs. It gives hope to me.

Between BiaB and RB you can get a whole lot done that you can't using anything else. Learn to use them in the most efficient way for your workflow.
And yes, the interface is a work in progress to me also; Biab/RB do a lot.
What you want it to do defines how you personally want it to be set up .. seems to be a pretty complicated decision with all the different ways people use it.
Joe wants this easier, and Jeff wants that easier. Neither is wrong.

As for chords recognized

Thank you for your message which comforts me. Especially about the chords.

I guess that I can only see what I can do with it with a purchase. I'm torned between the Megapack and the Ultra. More tracks in the Ultra but also means more tracks from genre I might not be using. Still undecided. I'm interested in the jazz, smooth jazz, blues, latin and bossa tracks, so maybe the Ultra is best ?

You can try it for 30 days, after that if you don't like it you will get a refund.
I bought the Ultra Pak, tried it then 5mins later bought the Audiophile version as I was so impressed with it.

I couldn't've said better myself, Mario.
