Realband 2020 is all messed up
I just loaded a Band In The Box file or sgu file that sounds good and opened it in Realband 2020 only to find out that at bar 236 is a blank spot for the realtracks except the drums.....?????? I can't figure out why. also the tempo map in Band in the box works good but have a problem at the end of the song....Why???
Would you like me to send you these files so you can figure it out?

Horsthartung, I suspect you encountered a limitation present in both Band-in-a-Box and RealBand. The limitation is called the "255 bar limitation" but it does not always show itself right at bar 255. There is an extensive discussion +++ HERE +++ Of course, as you suggest it does not hurt to freeze the tracks and send the file to support@pgmusic.com for confirmation.

I believe we were once told this is caused in RB because RB borrows the BiaB generation feature. So really it's a BiaB limitation that RB inherits with the tool.
At least in RB you can continue generating the rest of the song in large chunks. You get lots of tracks to work with, and you can indeed generate beyond the 256, just not in one pass. In BiaB I think it's more of a brick wall.
That said, I just generated a 289 bar track without issue as a test. Go figger ..
I did set the End Bar in the generating section to 289 as well as set the From-Thru to 289.

Don’t cha all think it’s about time to fix this?
When discussions start about where RB/PTPA fit in the DAW landscape many of us have strongly defended it as a very powerful and feature rich DAW choice. Yes it has many great virtues. Features no other DAW has, those being the awesome BiaB capabilities. This DAW can do things a far more well know, and mainline program could never begin to do.
Yet the problem lies in that, while it is all that a a bag of chips, it still suffers from being fragmented it is a wonderful marriage of BiaB and PTPA. That is both incredible and limiting in one moment.
I sent a note to the Peter, Andrew, and a couple others recently suggesting that future plans should include a lotta love for RB. BiaB is at a point where it either has to morph into something it was never intended to be, and I fear become a train wreck doing so or slow down to a slow boil.
Imagine BiaB with no 50 new features next year instead 25 nagging bugs solved and 202 new real tracks including ambient tones, breakbeat drums and a bunch of new modern RTs and RDs. That addresses what many are clamoring for modernizing. Next a complete and total update of RB. Modern mixer view something like studio one with inserts and sends, with excellent FX chains and new powerful plugins. Get rid of the 255 limit, updated and complete automation, not just volume and panning, not just fader moves. Build it into a DAW that rivals Studio one, Reaper, Cubase, Cakewalk, etc. but one that includes BiaB generation capabilities. Putting RB on the front burner allows it to be broken out from BiaB, allows it to become a paid product that generates income. Let’s BiaB rest and catch up. It would still be a source of revenue with it becoming even more solid and a stable and many of its old bugs squashed for good. Lots of time and resources could be diverted into RT development. Lots of resources diverted to RB so it can be one of the best DAWs around and used along side BIaB and a continuing to develop Biab plugin would be a lethal line up.

Lately I've been playing around with BIAB, which I normally don't do. I'm more of a Realband user. I think PGMusic needs to focus more on RealBand than BIAB. Cause I'm a Real Musician and record like real musicians do. Band I a Box has many more cool stuff in it than Real Band does.....so I ask you WHY? and why isn't Realband a 64 bit program?....when I heard that BIAB was now 64 bit I assumed Realband would be also....what's the thinking here? If things don't change soon, this might be the last time I buy or upgrade this product.....I'm not happy.

RB is not 64 bit yet, but 32 bit still functions. Maybe next release 64 bit. Biab has more because it is the parent program, RB is a free add on derived from Powertracks, and BiaB married together. I just generated a 275 bar song in RB with both midi and RT, and RD. The song generated flawlessly and played the same way. The limit to 255 bars is in biab not RB. If you want a song longer than 255 bars, start the song in RB, at least until the 255 limit is changed in Biab.

I don't consider Realband a Free add on of BIAB. I buy BIAB because of Realband I could care less of BIAB cause I never use it. I need the programmers of PGMusic to spend more time developing RealBand cause that's the program I use and care about. Or just seperate the two and I'll just buy Realband.....but someone has to spend more time on it.
That's all I'm saying......

I hear you, and I agree, for two years I used RB exclusively and barely ever cracked Biab open. I once did a head to head project where I recorded and completed a song in 1. Realband, 2. Reaper, 3. Cakewalk Sonar X1. I finished the project in all three, and not only did RB do every bit as good a job it did it faster. I will say both Reaper and Sonar had better tools in some areas, but neither had the ability to add RTS, and such and generate parts over. I use Studio one pro now after creating the base tracks in the plugin, or BiaB but still use RB from time to time when I need it to do some tasks.
The only reason I moved to Studio One was the better plugins and better comping and audio editing features, all of which RB does, but not nearly as well. I also got tired of fighting RB over some of my favorite plugins that simply worked better in SD1
Either RB or PT needs to be given some love here. I am going to continue to talk about it.
What specifically do you want to see updated or added in RB?

I agree.....
Must Have's in Realband are as follows:
1. Be able to use meter map and tempo map the same way as in BIAB, cause I write lots of songs that use different time signatures and tempos....also be able to slow a part down for a few bars say 152 to 70 tempo then go back to the main tempo of 152 as an example. BIAB does this very well....
2. Generate a Real track solo that doesn't sound phony meaning today it sounds like little blocks of solo parts and doesn't flow like a real soloist would do.
3. When using different Time signatures in different parts of the song, the drum track or Real Track should be able to follow the meter map like going from 3/4 time to 4/4 or 2/4 time.
4. Realband should be a 64 bit program like BIAB....I don't know anyone who doesn't have a 64 bit computer nowadays....processing time would be cut way down.
5. The many styles should also be able to follow the Meter and Tempo map so you can use a style you like for any song. It's like being able to use a band or Style you like to play many different songs.
6. Separate BIAB and RealBand into two different programs and let the users decide which one they want to buy.
Let's start with that let other users add a wish list to make Realband the best Recording software on the market.
Oh I almost forgot....Audio Chord wizard sucks in Realband....I've never been able to use it in a real song I was working with without being totally frustrated and pissed off. I've tried using it and have given up every time. Even in BIAB it dosen't work with songs in different time signatures and tempos.

I am surprised BiaB does this with Audio, due to the limitations of audio stretching software. Each RT has limits and the further you get from the original tempo the more artifacts you get from the material. Midi on the other hand can handle this type of manipulation.
2. Generate a Real track solo that doesn't sound phony meaning today it sounds like little blocks of solo parts and doesn't flow like a real soloist would do.
So far Multiriff has been hit and miss for me. I have had better results from the plugin than RB. Mostly because Studio one has an exceptional comping system.
3. When using different Time signatures in different parts of the song, the drum track or Real Track should be able to follow the meter map like going from 3/4 time to 4/4 or 2/4 time.
I would imagine this has to do with the fact RTs are audio and had been recorded in a certain time structure. Changing time signatures would be very difficult with prerecorded material.
4. Realband should be a 64 bit program like BIAB....I don't know anyone who doesn't have a 64 bit computer nowadays....processing time would be cut way down.
I think this will happen sooner or later since BiaB is now 64 bit.
5. The many styles should also be able to follow the Meter and Tempo map so you can use a style you like for any song. It's like being able to use a band or Style you like to play many different songs.
Again this maybe difficult for RTs and RDs, due to their physical make up
6. Separate BIAB and RealBand into two different programs and let the users decide which one they want to buy.
I agree in some form or the other
Let's start with that let other users add a wish list to make Realband the best Recording software on the market.

Agreed that it is ticklish but I have had some results
Great explanation thanks I hope others stop by to add their thoughts

First thing I can think of is to maybe get these into the RB Wishlist forum (which they do check). How you want to to present/request these changes is up to you. If you want change, this is where PGMusic provides an area for requested changes. https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=34&page=1
