I believe we were once told this is caused in RB because RB borrows the BiaB generation feature.
So really it's a BiaB limitation that RB inherits with the tool.

At least in RB you can continue generating the rest of the song in large chunks. You get lots of tracks to work with, and you can indeed generate beyond the 256, just not in one pass.
In BiaB I think it's more of a brick wall.

That said, I just generated a 289 bar track without issue as a test. Go figger ..

I did set the End Bar in the generating section to 289 as well as set the From-Thru to 289.
