You'll find this disappointing after the previous one but that's life. Stephen's basic video was amusing and deliberately unattractive but needed breaking up as it didn't sustain interest. Lots of experimentation with this one - the green screen is VERY limited in the program I've been using so I'll have to consider upgrading. Nevertheless - here 'tis...
UPDATED & MODIFIED
A comment here & there and a suggestion from Misha caused me to slightly tweak the vid.

As others note... this is a song worth hearing again! The YouTube sound is really good (much like the last one).
Many interesting images in the video. I especially liked the sketch effect of Stephen sing around the :55 mark. Might have to try that myself... (but, man! videos are so time-consuming!!) Also likes the guitar-playing shots...
Really good, and really catchy too. I liked this a lot and the video was very psychedelic but fit quite well with the music. The *vibe* of the song (not the song itself) sounded very familiar, and it took me a while to think of it: REM. Definitely has that REM sort of vibe with the repeating guitar theme, especially some of the descending note lines.
@Rayc - is there a particular mode or scale that you used when creating this, or was really done by ear and feel?

I was trying to get the best possible sound from a new and very cheap "spring" reverb pedal. I found that F shaped chords worked well, (used them on the follow up song: The Narcissist's Wife), and that the E in that shape worked particularly well. I experimented with that looking for the drone value in the 1st couple of positions and came up with the verse. The chorus was simply D, Dm & F#m because they were in that general area of the fretboard so had a similar response from the pedal. I'm far too poor a guitarist to think in terms of modes & scales so ear & experimentation is the way for me. I had to look up the chords I used in the verse!

That is a very effective vid. The lyric, melody and imagery are remarkable in their energy. I watched the tweaked one and a bit later watched the original. The changes weren't immediately apparent to me...I'll have to "back to back" them later.
I've done a ton of simple lyric videos with still shots so I have some idea of the thought and work that went into this much more complex production. Kudos!
And fun to hear the song again also!

first of all: The more often I listen to the song the more I like it. Which is not a bad development, I think: It's really a great one on all levels.
Well, the videos: I watched them both from A to Z, and I already liked the first one a lot. One might think that heavy using of all effects a software might offer could be too much, but it definitely isn't here. Everything is very late 60s / early 70s and reminds me a lot of what was shown in the Paradiso in Amsterdam back then. I especially like the visualization of the guitar solo - that is terrific.
And, yes, those tweaks on the second one do add some spice, but öickily the general impression is being kept, so I do like both a lot!
Very very enjoyable!
All the best,
Stefan
PS: Thanks for explaingin what Stepgen did with The Narcisist video - sometimes it's hard to believe how little it takes to get great effects.
To be honest... I couldn't see any differences between the videos... But perhaps the audio experience might have prevented me from spotting those differences
I enjoyed hearing your song again... And I always enjoy your videos!
BTW... I hope & your family are safely enduring those fires.
Having worked with video a lot in the past I can appreciate how much time you must have put into that production. Particularly liked the monochrome frames - very effective.
