Dear PG Music,

Please consider adding a 24 bit depth option to the render option for wave files and offering 24 bit depth RealTracks in the Audiophile edition of Band-in-a-Box.

I asked for that way back, as it was not going to be that much larger, but I don't know what bitrate they are originally recorded @, it may only be 16/44 but if they were recorded @ 24/48 that would be great.

Bump

Please look at Peter Gannon's comments in +++ THIS +++ post. The audio content is available as 24 bit, it just is not distributed as 24 bit.

For rendering options to export as 24bit and 32bit FPM would be nice.

Masi

PS: For 16bit BB adds dither, right?

+1 I would settle for 24/41... even if it costs some more for storage.

The Thunderbolt 3/ USB C gen2 port/protocol is the future. It will take to write Audiphile 24 bit same time as it takes to put Ultra on USB now.

It will render up to 32bit/96khz but it won't generate up from 24bit/48khz or 44.1khz I just get hiss. The Mac version generated up from 24bit/48khz tracks.
A 550meg 16bit/44.1khz stereo RealTrack is 900meg @ 24bit/48khz stereo
and 900meg @ 24bit/44.1khz stereo.

yes, but it is interpolating. At the core, you still have your 16 bit.

We are getting close to very cheap storage. 6TB hard drive is about $80 now.
Soon 6TB Thunderbolt 3 SSDs...
24bit Audiophile should fit on either, right? smile

It's less than double so a 4T should do, the Audiophile 2T still has 500GB free, get rid of the wma and you will have more room.

i would like to add to the possiblity of having 24 bit in the future if indeed the realtracks/drums are at 24 bit when recorded. sure it will take p more space lol but it would be a nice option to have for mastering and such.

really happy with getting the 2020 audiophile edition as great for producers in having just that extra bit of quality when mastering and such and likely great for using direct input mode for guitar tracks to make sure you get the cleanest file possible for further editing with 3rd party amps and such!

might mean it will be 4 TB instead of 2 lol but hey ;-) for what you get its worth it!

24/96 had become the standard 20 years ago. It's time PGM got with the program, and not just for the audiophiles -- for everybody.

A bump is timely, since we now know that 24-bit files exist for the RealTracks. It might be a lot of work to prepare the files one time, but I suspect those who need them would be willing to pay additional costs for higher quality beyond the audiophile version.

+1 (bump)

First time purchases will require a large drive. Upgrades could only include the "new" portion of goodness.
