Thanks PGMUSIC for a great product! I am using 2010 (293) HD version and it ROCKS! As many do, I keep the RDs and Rts on the HD, but the apps on my HD’s (D:) partition. The upgrade was well worth it, for the fast rendering, outboard HD, new styles, better endings, and more. (I don’t want to sound like a commercial, but jeeze…).

I formed a duo with a previous band mate/guitar player, who had doubts about using backing tracks with our gigs. Well, last night we played our first one , which was a great success. A small local bar, (you know the drill), who never had live music due to space, was perfect for our little ‘footprint’. The best part was that NO ONE commented on hearing drums but no drummer. (People are picky around here). And when Paul played leads, there was no ‘drop out’ with the RT rhythm guitar track cranking. With our originals we used a RT and a track Paul recorded together. All good!

I use only RealTracks and RealDrums for our tracks. We play a mix of originals/rock/blues/modern country that I guess can be labeled ‘Americana’. We use BB to create a framework to work off of, and then port it into RealBand to create the final product. Also, since I run a mono PA, all of my tracks are mono saving a ton of space on my HD. When we are happy with the drum tracks, (up to 4), and guitar tracks, (usually 1 to ‘keep it real’), I pan all the drums Left, and the remaining track(s) Right so when I burn the CD, I can run them individually into the PA for ultimate control. I know that this is old news to you seasoned users, but I had to say it anyway.

I also fixed an ‘Access Violation’ problem I had from time to time, which would lock up BB in the middle of some critical work I had just done, losing everything. I even called support about it, but found the fix before I was able to send them the necessary info. It seems that my Permissions were correctly set on the BB folders, but not at my (D:) drive itself. So, under certain conditions, Vista wouldn’t allow certain data transfers. When logged in as Administrator, I set my (D:) drive permissions to ‘Full Control”, and no more ‘Access Violation’ messages!!

Sorry if this fix has been posted previously but I thought I would mention it anyway. It might help some user out there.

Cheers,

Doug
