I find that the exporting as XML is a fantastic feature in BIAB which works really well with BIAB. I am using this feature to create my melody for the song using its basic chord progression.
The only problem I have is when I want to import the completed XML file back in to BIAB to audition it.
If I import as an XML I get the choice of tracks that I want to import. I only import the Melody track but, when this is done, I lose all my chord progression. I have to Import the file as Midi and select the appropriate channel. This works well but I feel sure I should be able to work entirely with XML.
Am I doing something wrong?

I will look at this tonight. The normal use of Music XML is to export to another program, or import from another program. What program are you using to develop your melody? I’ve run lots of tests and some programs work fine, some introduce errors, and some won’t work at all.

MuseScore 3 seems to be the most accurate of all the programs I've tried, followed by Sibelius and Overture. I will test your process later with MuseScore.

I just tested this and I couldn't get this to work properly. I do not get the melody I entered in MuseScore to go back to BIAB. I tried selecting ALL tracks for both export then import.
Just checking, you know that MIDI does not include chord info. I assume that's why you (and I) want Music XML to work, as it does include chords and text.
