Thanks for all the ideas, Guys.

rharv, I think the answer to your question is MS GS Wavetable Synth (I don’t know too much about this stuff).

I have since put BB 2007 on my desktop computer and I have the same problems here (BB 2010 is on my laptop).
Dell Inspiron 537S
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit
Pentium 2.5 GHz
3 GB RAM useable
300 GB HDD 245 GB free
MS GS Wavetable Synth
Sound described only as HD Audio Device (MS)

Now an apology. I misread the details behind my problems. I've investigated further and found that my problem with "UNDO KEEP AUDIO TAKE" arises when I "PLAY" the recorded take thru to it's end. At that point nothing happens if I click "EDIT - UNDO KEEP AUDIO TAKE". The blue Status Bar also shows no change, audio track is still there. If instead I "PLAY" the recorded take only part way thru then "STOP", everything seems to work properly. Click "EDIT - UNDO KEEP AUDIO TAKE" the recorded audio disappears, from playback and from the Status Bar.

Strange things happen iF I continue clicking "EDIT - UNDO/REDO KEEP TAKE". The recorded audio disappears sometimes and reappears sometimes. Sometimes a recording from much earlier will appear. I once had the chords playing in 3/4 time and the recorded guitar playing in 4/4 time. THAT'S UGLY!!

Would someone please try this for me? Enter a few chords in the chord sheet, maybe 8 - 10 bars, one chorus, no loop. Record any kind of audio with those chords. I just tapped my mike to make noise. Then "OK-KEEP TAKE". Then "PLAY" thru to the end of the recording. Then click "EDIT - UNDO KEEP AUDIO TAKE".

What happens, please. In my case, nothing. Maybe it's programmed that way. If I playback thru to the end of the take without stopping, it must be a good take so I won't want to get rid of it.

Sorry about the long post, but I'll greatly appreciate more help!!

Frank
