I have 106 bars. I deleted all the chords after bar 92 but every time I regenerate, bar 96 changes to 96a and jumps to the next line.
This sounds like you have a part marker in place on bar 96 (a small blue rectangle?), which is causing the new line.
Click on that rectangle until it changes back to white. Also this new line setting can be changed from the Display menu:
