Awakening I wrote this song during summer 2017, the original Finnish version with a female vocalist was selected as the song of the week on a local musicians' forum. I hope I haven't ruined it with my singing in this new English version  BIAB provided a great mix of modern instruments once more. RealDrums: PopModernGrooveSync RealTracks: Electric bass #1827 Acoustic guitar #2552 Acoustic piano #1839 Electric guitar #1831, #1684, #1403 Fiddle #405 Flute #704 MIDI: MOZART.STY Strings 1 - Vocalise 2 VST, Strings 2 - GPO 5 Full Choir Vocals by me Mixed in Adobe Audition 2019. Lyrics: Awakening Sitting on a stone watching restless waves around me only few on my life's sea could have calmed down its sway most people have just sailed away. Lying on the rocks I hear the rhythm of the hard hail hardly ever drummed for my tale same feelings beat for years yet most people have just closed their ears. The cold of dawn I felt on my skin You took off the blanket my heart was hiding in. You woke me up in this beautiful den even if a storm broke, I would live it once again wake me up one more time to the beautiful world wake me up one more time to the beautiful world. Standing in the wind wishing for a soft ascension someone freed the bow from tension stayed until the morning breeze in her company, I would be feeling ease. The cold of dawn... Body's awakened, bare and serene mirroring your image on its sheen blessed free mind soars from the reeds I'm still a tender slender tree. wake me up one more time to the beautiful world wake me up one more time to the beautiful world. ------------------------ Janne

A beautiful love song with lovely lyrics...
I especially liked the line...
"You took off the blanket my heart was hiding in."
A unique visual image...

This version is a good indication of an effective narrative and sweet melody.
You vocal does get lost in the chorus though.
I'd love to hear the original version - I have no problem listening to songs not in English.

You vocal does get lost in the chorus though.
I'd love to hear the original version - I have no problem listening to songs not in English. I agree completely.

Hi Janne, I remember this one. Your images throughout these lyrics are very strong and they created wonderful pictures in my mind. I love this arrangement. You seriously have a flair for matching, arranging, mixing and producing. From start to end, I really enjoyed this musical journey. I am a fan of your work, always. Love the progressions on this one. Nice melody. I agree with Rayc, your vocals tend to get lost in the chorus. Very nice song!

Thanks Ray for your positive words I was thinking that my vocal in verses is bit too loud, but nice to notice that people hear things differently There is a link to the original version in the end of the song info section at soundcloud. Although it is excellently sung, sometimes it's better the writer to express his personal inner landscape. Janne

The melody is lovely and the arrangement ( particularly liked the flute solos, seldom used for some reason) works well.
In reference to the chorus vocals, I thought the choral effect tended to smother your lead a little... which is otherwise clear and warm, suiting the song`s positive mood.
