New User here. I searched and looked around the different posts here but didn't see anything addressing this particular issue.
I'm trying to create a backing track for Breezin'. Selected a Chacha style and want to edit the bass line for an intro. I deleted the notes in the notation for the bass line and entered the new bass line. It will play after I have entered it in but after I save the file and open it up again it reverts back to the original bass line in the Chacha style. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Presumably, ChaCha style is a RealTrack (the text for the instrument is in green). In that case it is an audio recording, an the notation has been transcribed - essentially for viewing purposes only.
When you re-generate, it will be replaced with the RealTrack audio and the notation transcription will also be updated.
Suggest you select a MIDI track (these show as yellow), make your changes if required, and freeze the track. Your changes will be saved.

Thanks for the reply. When I opened the mixer the only track that is green is the Drums. All other instruments in the style are yellow. Will look into the freezing the track approach.

Great, you're already using a MIDI track, so freezing the track after editing and before generating should resolve this for you.

Thanks, again. That seems to have solved that problem. Now that I have entered the notation for the intro there are places where the last note of one measure needs to be "tied" to the first note of the next measure. I have searched through the help files etc. but can't seem to find how to do this. Any ideas?

Entering Notation in BiaB is a little different. When you enter a note, it will be given a specific length. When you enter a following note, the first note is shortened. You can also enter a rest.
So don't try to tie the note to a following note. Try deleting the following note, and extending the length of the first note as shown in the last image below:

Thanks! That did work, however, I experienced another issue while doing this. I tried to replace a rest (which was the last thing in one of the measures) with a note but it just kept beeping and not letting me add the note.
BTW, are your screenshots above directly from the manual or did you create them specifically to address my issue? Really appreciate it at any rate.
The way I remove the rest is by going into Melody, Edit Melody Track, Step Edit Melody. Look at the appropriate measure number and find the entry for a Rest. Delete it. If the problem is in the Soloist track, it's the same process with the Soloist menu.
Or are you still talking about editing and freezing the Bass track? When I want to do extensive editing to a bass part, I copy the part to the Melody or Soloist track. Then I use F5 to mute/back to normal the regular bass track and the 'new' bass track on the Melody or Soloist track, thus getting the bass to play what I want.

Yes, I am still mucking around with the bass line issue. This is just day two of messing with the software. Will continue to experiment and look into the Melody or Soloist tracks.
I'm humbled by the favorable words bestowed upon me
Of course, we all just look after each other here, and I just try to chip in where I can, as do so many of the other excellent team players.
This is a great forum.
