Sorry my response is so late, I've been away.
Thanks, as always, for taking the time to listen to my efforts and the kind words.
And thanks especially for the 'vocal' comments. To me, vocal is king, and I always try to give everything to make it work with each song. It's why,sometimes, I miss the shortcomings in some of my mixes because I am so intent and focused on the vocal.
But that's why all you wonderful guys are so helpful. You have better ears than me.

Hi Ray,
Sorry, I missed your comments first time around.
"As mentioned - there's some stridency to the vocal due to processing and EQing can ease that quickly enough."
Hopefully I can fix this in future with my new Behringer, though to be quite honest, I don't really know what I'm doing.
As I don't use a DAW I have no way to EQ or process the vocal after it's laid down, so I have to get it right 'live'.
I love writing and performing my songs, I hate recording them so I pretty much get them done and out of the way as best I can.

In my early recordings I always used to set the vocal back in the mix and drown it in reverb, because I was never happy about the way my voice sounded.
