I love the groove and upbeat feel of this! While I'm sure the lyrics could be improved, they worked as far as I was concerned. The current arrangement is sort of the same throughout the sections, but you've hinted it's a work in progress. I was hoping you might go "full Beatles" at the end and dissolve into the sound of backwards orchestras. But minor nits - as usual with your songs, I enjoyed this a lot!

I like the upbeat and bouncy feel that you have created here, Torrey.
It does remind me of the Beatles (Penny Lane), but I think it also has a slight flavour of the Beach Boys. There's definitely a late 60's vibe to it.

Torrey (and David), Super creative tune. Seems a lot of hard labor and soul went into it. Arrangement is very complex, I had to listen to this tune several times on different occasions, to grasp it  Nice powerful stuff! Thank you for sharing. Misha.

Hi Torrey,
you're making it harder with every song ypu post to find words of excitement I haven't written before.
This one is a masterpiece - no doubt about that.
A masterpiece for so many reasons, but what it did to me was open 'The Sixties Book' - so many memories so cleverly and so freshly put together - no idea how you can, but you did it again.
What a crazy idea to start a song called "A Day In the Light" with a citation of that chaotic ending of "A Day In The Life". Again Wishbone Ash's double guitar playing appeared on my inside screen and - what a pleasure to be reminded on them - The Move heck: Who remembers "Wild Tiger Woman"? Beatles anyway - please, Torrey, don't get me wong, when I mention all these: By no means do I think you're copycatting - on the contrary: I think you have a miraculous gift of soaking in the musical highlights of the past and turning them into something really new and exclusively 'torrey-ish'.
In German we have a popular saying roughly translated by : 'That's really big cinemal'. And, yes, Torrey, that's what it is: big cinema!-

Thanks David for the listen and comments! I considered altering the arrangement a tad but choose to keep it in a uniform pattern throughout because of the short length of the actual music section of the song (excluding the intro and ending). I also thought about reversing the audio on the end and that is still an option! T

I went back to the 2018 version...this is a very cool development on that section. Definitely worth the effort to resurrect, renovate & extend.

Crackling with energy from that great intro- I knew I was in for a treat!
I like the style links to the period and your vocal is very good ( one of your best, I think). The song is infectious and lyrics swirl around with the good feelings (sound fine as is).
Will David hear this and come back to find out how many others miss him around here?

This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
