BiAB is installed on a laptop and my DAW is on a desktop machine. In Pro Tools I could not navigate to a jump drive that has an .SGU file on it. Is it possible to open a file directly in the DAW without using the drag n drop method that works when both programs are installed on the same machine? When no file is loaded in the DAW the import and export options are not active.

Hi Dominic,
ProTools does not open SGU files (as far I'm aware).
You could use the BIAB plugin in ProTools and then open the SGU file in the plugin. That would work. To do this, though, you would need to have BIAB installed on the computer with ProTools on it.
PG Music allow users up to three installations so you could do this.

Thanks, Noel. I did not know that. I was able to install BiAB on my desktop pc. However, I've been watching different videos etc. on the subject but I am not able to drag and drop any files. Nothing happens when I do so. My screen seems to look different when I enter the DAW mode than what I'm seeing in the videos. I will continue to search for more info. Thanks again.

Ok, I realized I needed to prepare the track by dragging to the drop station first. Then I was able to drag the file over to create the track in Pro Tools. Will continue to search around and find out how to drag all the tracks at once from the plugin to the DAW.

At the far left of the row of instruments on your menu bar is the Master. Just drag the Master into the drop station (instead of individual instruments) and all the instruments will be generated and available at the same time. The first time is always the hardest...Good luck!

I export the Audio & MIDI from BIAB as .WAV and .MID files and import that to Pro Tools. No issues.
 Steve BIAB/RB 2022, Pro Tools 2020, Korg N5, JBL LSR 4328 Powered Monitors, AKG/Shure Mics.
PC: Win11 PRO, 4 TB M2 SSD, 2 TB HD, 128 GB Memory
