If a track is chopped up into many pieces, due to some editing (cut paste etc) some of the older plugins will only read one 'chunk', however small it may be. In RB the solution is to right click the audio display and choose 'select whole track' then go to 'Track - consolidate audio region'. It rewrites the track as one continuous chunk.

Not at all sure if this applies to BiaB, as I do all audio in RB.. but I believe they are the same effects.
Hopefully Andrew (or someone else) will be back to help shortly. Did you check to see if the device BiaB is using is the same as the one Windows defaults to? (Control Panel - Sound)
