First of all, I'm baaaackkkk!!!!
Much to the dismay of many, I'm sure. shocked

Short story was that I got screwed by a woman and a woman judge, and I've lost almost everything. I've just recently got a laptop I could put BIAB on, and thanks to the wonderful Support Staff at PG Music, I was able to download my latest purchase, which was the 2018 Ultra Plus Pak. As much as I would like to upgrade to 2020, I'm homeless and unemployed, so it's not possible right now.

Okay, enough about the last four or five years.

I'm sure many of you know 'On Green Dolphin Street.' There is even a J~Dolfin and J_Dolfin style, way back from MIDI Style Set 6. I want to create a RealTracks style for On Green Dolphin Street.
For those of you who don't know, the song starts with 8 bars of Bossa Nova and then switches to 8 bars of Swing. This switching continues throughout the song.

Now, I'm sure I could change styles every 8 bars from Bossa to Swing, and even vary up the styles, but I would rather have it in one easy to load MultiStyle. Since I can use a lot of subsets, I should be able to load 8 bars of one Bossa Style, 8 bars of one jazz style, and then when I want to come around to the second verse, even use 8 bars of a second Bossa Style and 8 bars of a second jazz style, adding instruments and tension to the song as I go.
So, for three verses and choruses, I might end up with three different Bossa styles and three different Jazz styles.

The problem is, I don't know how to write the MultiStyle. There don't seem to be any real tutorial on how to do it, and then Help feature in 2018 isn't all that helpful. It keeps referring to the 'Misc' button, and I can't find a Misc button.
When I press the Style Maker button, I get "Edit Current Style in Stylemaker", "Save Current Instruments as Style", "Make a Hybrid Style" and "Style Wizard."

So, what I'm looking for is this.
The MultiStyle 'A' Part: Looking for a basic Bossa Nova style, pretty laid back, even just drums, bass and piano, or guitar comping.
The B Part, I'm looking for a Jazz part consisting of the same thing, laid back, drums, bass and piano or guitar comping.
The C part is a little more uptempo Bossa, maybe switching up to four parts, piano AND Guitar comping.
The D part is the same uptempo, except in Jazz, four parts.
The E and F parts follow the same concept, just a little more busy, maybe five parts, horn stabs or something along the way.

What I don't get out of this whole thing is how to use RealTracks and RealDrums to create this style. I don't even know if I CAN do that, but I don't see why not.

Okay, now, barring that, yes, I'm sure I could change styles at certain bars, I think I remember being able to do that. smile But, I would rather have a style that has the MultiParts I want so that I can choose where I want those parts. I mean, if I read this correctly, the MultiStyle should give me up to 24 subsets or subparts, right?

The Tutorial in the help menu for 2018 doesn't seem to cover this, or at least on how to create a MultiStyle, and I haven't found anything here on creating one from the RealTracks and RealDrums we have.

So, if anyone can explain to me in terms a five-year-old can understand, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance, and I'm happy to be back with BIAB again, trying to keep my sanity.

Gary

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!
