This one is for my mother (who has been gone for years now). I grew up in a house where Celtic songs filled the air. Largely from my mother's Scottish upbringing. She would sing and without fail cry at the same time. Here is my attempt at recreating those sounds. I hope I did her proud. Nice one Troy.
The bodhran fits well.
It's a blend of reel & sea shanty with the hey ohs.
Lyrically very much in the realm of the real things - almost always "Neither a borrower nor a lender be" stuff.
Cool song and lovely vocal.
Bour is a chamber or cottage.
bore (despite it being a homonym and having an almost opposite meaning to the activity and results of child birth) is the spelling you're after.

Fantastic! I attend a lot of Celtic festivals for the music and this sounds as good as anything I've heard at any of them. Yes, the chorus sounds a bit like a shanty. Great work!

I enjoyed this a lot. The lyrics suit the style beautifully and I particularly like the harmonies on the chorus. Really nice work.

Very polished song. Vocals blend nicely. There's a very distinctive Celtic feel to it that really carries through. I'd say it's ready for prime time!
