Mike,
Thanks for the suggestions. The reason I decided to stick with GarageBand, at least at first, is because all of this is novel to me. In the past I have created arrangements on BIAB and then used them on the Macbook for performance, played through my Bose soundmatch/column speakers.

Now, I want better arrangements; hence using GarageBand. I want to feel comfortable with it before moving up to Logic. My impression is it's a steep learning curve for both 2019 BIAB and current GarageBand, but I've done a couple of decent arrangements already.

I play a Roland-700 SX keyboard, in addition to trumpet and flugel horn. -- With the Realtracks, I hope to play live on horns with some BIAB arrangements, as well as continuing to play keys as before. My trio of 20+ years recently disbanded with the retirement from performance of our great drummer/horn player. The bassist, violinist, guitar, banjo player wanted to play in a guitar band with his twenty-something son.

So, I may be playing more solo gigs here in central Iowa in the future. Have played in bands since age 16, including small groups, municipal concert band, big bands, etc. At 70+ I'm still active, ride bike 100 miles per month, play golf, and still work as a psychologist. Probably more info than wanted, but now you know the background.

I'm more than willing to learn from others in the arena. Any more tips are always appreciated. Thanks.

Bill
